Situated in an old building. Modernist style architecture. The layout kept the same as it started. Not very big with one floor visiting but it contains stamps all over the world. Worth a visit still and exploring abit of the world of stamps. The workers there are very friendly and ready to help and tells you a lot about the museum the building.

Such big collection, you will need minimum a day to see everything. Amazing building, and attention to the details when was built, that shows it’s purpose of being a Stamp Museum. Helpful and polite ladies who can help you with guidance.

A cozy and atmospheric museum where you can literally touch history. I was especially impressed by the collection of WWF-themed philatelic items gathered over a lifetime by a Hungarian biologist — a delicate and heartfelt tribute to nature. The stamps from before and after World War II offer a visual chronicle of changing times. The temporary exhibitions are also excellent — the current one is dedicated to women in Hungarian history, featuring everything from writers to astronauts. The archival storage system is incredibly well-organized, showing how carefully the museum treats its collection. A special thank you to the staff — they’re incredibly friendly, happy to answer questions, and eager to share stories about the most unique pieces. You can immediately tell they’re true enthusiasts.

Super cool experience. It’s more like visiting an archive than a museum (which is a treat for historians like us). The staff will give you some print outs, including a very fun treasure hunt to find specific notable stamps. Organized by continent and territory.

A very interesting museum, totally unexpected! The collection of stamps, which I was told contains more than half a million pieces, has some rare examples, and stamps from the origins to most recent times from all over the world! In fact, in one big room you'll find all these drawers for you to freely open and have six pages, inside glass panels, full of stamps. Never seen anything like it before, so that was the first surprise. They are organised per country, and the legend on the side of each block will tell you from which frame to which you can find the ones from each state (in English, too). The helpful lady there, although spoke little English, helped us very much, explaining the collection and its organisation, and provided us some material/leaflets in English as well. Surprisingly, there was nobody else in the museum during our visit, but that allowed us to have a proper relaxed look at many stamps. We spent a long time and more would have been needed!
