Budapest-Déli

it was not bad but i cannot say very good because there was no shade or roof on each platform that every passenger can avoid sudden rain/snow and strong sunlight. and the trains were parked quite far from the entrance and everyone had to walk quite for so long

Half of the train station seems under construction, the other half seems sketchy with some rather questionable people hanging around. On our way back we spent 10 minutes looking for our correct follow up because the logistics are not worked out well/ too clear. A decent station if you spend 10 minutes here, any longer I would not recommend.

I absolutely love the bold modernist massing of Déli Railway Station and its fascinating shifts in geometry. It is an exceptionally practical intermodal transport hub that deserves careful renovation and modernization rather than replacement. There is certainly room to improve accessibility, while the public spaces around the station would benefit from more greenery and a better-organized layout for kiosks and retail units. With thoughtful upgrades, Déli could become one of Budapest’s finest examples of modern transport architecture.

Budapest Déli Station is a smaller, functional railway hub with basic facilities and easy access to local transport. It’s relatively quiet and less crowded than other major stations, but amenities like shops and eateries are limited. The station is convenient for regional travel, though it may feel dated compared to newer European terminals.
