They add 12% "private tax" to your bill. They call it "service". There is no information about this weird habit anywhere but hidden at the bottom of the last page of the menu. It's just nothing more but cheating and hiding the real price of the food. Beware!

The best restaurant in Budapest staff so friendly and food is excellent. Make sure you have a big appetite.

Very crispy roast duck was yummy, as was the garlic cheese soup in bread and the pickled cucumbers! It was great to try another Hungarian restaurant, however the extra service fees make it a little more expensive. The crispiness of the roast duck was great, but the inside was a little bit dry however this is the case with most ducks.

We stumbled upon this place while randomly searching for restaurants. After reading the mixed reviews, we decided to give this a try. The pathos-driven narrative of the restaurant's background, evident in the ambiance and menu, is definitely far stronger than the service or the menu items itself. After receiving a rather cold greeting from the server, we were sat in what looked like a beautiful chapter from Hungarian history. We ordered a regional wine and a beer. The bottom of the beer glass hadn't been washed for a while and smelled stale. The menu doesn't have many vegetarian options (mostly just fried cheeses on offer) and it was hard to elicit a clear response from the server about the allergens or use of meat broth etc in items that were claimed could be made vegetarian. So we played it safe and ordered 1. Garlic soup in a bread bowl 2. Fried mushrooms with rice 3. Turkey with potatoes and garlicy sauce (the grandson's favorite) The highlight of the meal was the soup - excellent flavor (though too salty), and a very hearty warm and toasted bread bowl that it was served in. The mushrooms were supposed to have cheese (and flavor?) but that seemed missing. The tartar sauce (

Came by to eat something after arriving to Budapest, and we ended up very satisfied. It was too bad we came at the very end of the day, so there was no time to enjoy more, but it was really good. Food was delicious, staff very pleasant, atmosphere relaxing, beer cold :-) Well be sure to drop by during the day, to taste their daily menus, sweets and enjoy nice weather in the garden.
