A charming little pocket of tranquillity on Margaret Island, with koi ponds, water lilies, turtles and plenty of shaded corners to sit for a while. The garden dates back to 1936, which gives it rather more character than one might expect from such a modest space. It is small, but that is part of its appeal, especially after a long day of sightseeing. A graceful and pleasantly understated stop that suits the slower rhythm of the island perfectly.

A very beautiful garden to talk a walk through during the summer – I'm sure it's beautiful during autumn and spring too. There are many beautiful flowers, fish, and an adorable turtle too. 🐢 Enjoyed it very much.

A beautiful oasis of calm, with water features and carefully curated green spaces. Understated Japanese sculptures vie to catch your attention, while the koi carp swim lazily through clouds of tadpoles. It was a pleasant half hour on a very hot day

Japanese Garden is a truly peaceful and beautifully designed escape in the heart of Budapest. The garden is filled with carefully arranged trees, soft greenery, and calming water features that create a serene atmosphere the moment you enter. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, take a quiet walk, and enjoy nature at its purest. The combination of traditional Japanese design elements and the natural beauty of the surroundings makes it feel both unique and deeply relaxing. Lovely gardens with beautiful trees, perfect for a calm break away from the city noise.

Beautiful place, with water features that have ducks and fish in them. The blossoms were out and wonderful. A great place to sit and quietly reflect.

The Japanese Garden on Margaret Island is such a peaceful little spot. It’s not huge, but that’s part of the charm—it feels cozy and calm. The pond with the koi and lotus is super pretty, and the whole area is perfect for just wandering around or sitting and soaking up the peaceful vibe. Great place for a quiet break if you’re already exploring the island. Loved how chill it was.

It's a beautiful walk until you reach the Japanese garden, a beautiful natural park, with many leafy trees, shaded areas, with great gaps for the sun to pass through, the sound of birds, people having picnics, or simply sunbathing, a very enjoyable experience.
