Körmendy Elite Barber Shop

If you're ever in Budapest, you have to come see this bear of a man who gives one of the most unique and detailed haircuts I have ever experienced. Peter is very skilled with his hands and does a thorough job of cutting, and cutting, and then cutting some more. There is a shampoo and a scalp massage which means your cranium will get quite the workout. There are a lot of barbershops in the area, but for nearly an hour, these are the looks and experience you'll want to leave the city with. He has a unique combination of potions for different purposes and uses them liberally, and occasionally you may even receive palinka as a preworkout. I was totally fine with being manhandled but it may not be for you if you are sensitive or break easily.

This barber is an artist. If you want to have an unique experience, I recommend to go to this barber shop. He was pretty detailist in his work spending a lot of time on me. It is true that the prices are in the high side but it is worth it. He is also a really nice guy. He was talking so much to my bother in law that I got some motivation to start learning hungarian :S.

I was in Budapest a couple years ago, and wanted to get a haircut and beard trim. I found Peter online- he had great reviews, and I liked the vibe. English was not his strong suit, but after I showed him a picture of the cut I wanted, we connected in a different way. I cannot articulate exactly how amazing the experience was, but I still talk about it to this day. The most unique, a true purist; expect a totally different experience than your typical barber. Well worth it. After all these years I still have not found the words- I can only encourage you to check him out and find your own!

Best barber by far! Simply a master of his profession. Do not be put off by the way this barbershop looks from the outside (neither from the inside). The barber is very friendly although he doesn’t speak much English. The guy is a perfectionist. I mean a perfectionist! Attention to detail at its finest. It took him 1,5 hours to do my haircut the way I wanted which was coupled with a wash, head massage and possibly 5 different products on my hair! The best haircut I have ever had in my life. I am seriously considering flying in just for him. I highly (highly) recommend to pay him a visit. Solid 5 stars from me.

Great work and my haircut is just the way I like it. The owner, Peter, is very friendly. English is not his first language but he speaks enough to understand what you need. Just show him a photo of the style you want and Peter will match it. There's only one chair here so try to make an appointment. The work is precise and he pays close attention to detail. I took my father-in-law here while they were visiting Budapest and he too was very happy with the whole experience. I highly recommend this place.
