We accidentally came here, and the food is so so good. I would say one of the top one of my east Europe trip. The price is reasonable too. Highly recommended.

Really good Hungarian food in an authentic atmosphere, like going to a grandma's house. The portions are also large, so it's bang for the buck!

We wanted to try Hungarian authentic food and some recommended dishes we had shortlisted. This small restaurant is at a walking distance from Jaszai Mari Ter (metro/bus/tram) station. The staff is very nice as the explained us most of the dishes they had on display so we could choose them.

Apr 2026: “Menü” style eating in Budapest, Hungary. This means it’s cafeteria style where you pay à la cart, with about 15 to 20 things to choose from. A meal for two came out to $25 or about 7800 Forint. We enjoyed the szarvaspörkölt which is deer (9/10), the Pásztor tarhonya which is a pasta type (8/10), and the spinach “spenót” soup (7/10).

We were at the restaurant yesterday night after searching for hours to find something nice and authentic to eat. Can’t recommend it enough. Krisztian our server was super helpful and attentive. He was also very patient with us because the menu is huge and we were being indecisive. It was a little engagement celebration and we didn’t want to make a fuss but wanted a nice dinner. If you’re looking for the same experience, look no further!!! Thank you Krisztian, thank you Team Lecso!

Great cosy restaurant with traditional Hungarian food. A lot of meat meals options but there where also some meals for vegetarians. Very welcoming staff also friendly and helpful with recommendation. Possible sitting up stairs, quick service, clean dining area and toilets. Easy access from the centre of the city.

Was recommended by my tour guide and I had a satisfying meal that was affordable. Wish I found this earlier than on my last day. My plate looks chaotic but it’s #13 on the menu. And it was really good, saved my taste buds from the last Goulash I had. It’s like a canteen and you can pick out what you want as well.
