This place is shockingly bad. The supermarket feels like stepping into 1970s Soviet Russia in many ways. The staff are incredibly rude, treating customers as though they should feel lucky to be served at all. The store itself is outdated and depressing, with a design that hasn’t changed in decades, poor product quality, and almost no variety. Despite living nearby, I’d rather travel further for even the smallest shopping needs than going to this place.

Avoid this shop unless you speak Hungarian. My partner and I bought two waters, two chocolate bars and a pack of straws and after leaving the shop my partner said that seemed expensive. It transpired that we were charged for 22 waters rather than 2 at a price of 229 ft per bottle. We tried to resolve this issue but it was evident that we were scammed. Both shop workers were abrupt and rude. They tried to tell me you get money back from the water recycle machine yet (50ft) - she wouldn't accept the fact that she had charged us for 22 waters, waving her hands in the area and clearly swearing. Avoid this shop at all costs unless you want to get ripped off. 99.9% of people in Budapest are lovely and genuine. Evidently this shop is out to scam tourists.

Really, I know they are the closest to Hősök tere, which somehow keeps them afloat against all odds, but better avoid this joint if you can. Truly the worst of the worst on all counts. The sortiment is poor and inferior, staff are rude. Other reviewers mentioned that they also scammed tourists, which would not surprise me at all. I mostly just use the coffee machine these days and every time it's broken and gobbles up my money without dispensing coffee, I try to signal it to the staff. Their reaction for many years has been invariably to pull a face and tell me "it doesn't belong to us".

Not a bad place, it's very conveniently located for me. There is a good selection and good prices. Most of the staff are helpful and polite but there are a few rotten apples but I still recommend this shop. The nice staff outshine the few grumpy ones overall.
