Rented car for a travel. Payed on site, when came to take a car, signature all documents,manager said that we have wrong credit card and it’s not possible to pay 2500€ to bank. Manager said that canceled order. In couple days got message to leave a comment about using car. Perfect service! Didn’t used car, manager do not canceled order. Texted in support of CardJet, they read, said that will not back money and do not replay anymore. Do not recommend this company!

Amazing experience!! I would rent again! They give options but are not pushy. I just want to say thank you to Christof ( I think I have that name right) and the young lady and man at drop off. It was quick and efficient and said I can expect my deposit in a couple of days depending on our bank. Excellent company! We rented the 5 seater suv and it was a hybrid which was great for fuel economy! The nearby shell station was a great way to fill up!

I'd like to share my positive and honest experiences with Schiller Rental. First of all, they are not the cheapest rental out there, that's a fact. But reading reviews about hidden costs, deposit issues, etc, I really would say that those are mostly on the customer. I booked online, and checked all the fees, which was pretty clearly advertised. I knew I'm gonna need border crossing - their fee was clear (and average priced). I knew I need additional driver - it was clear and very good priced. I knew I needed full insurance - it was clear as well. I payed full online. The contract clearly said that the deposit is only accepted via credit card. End of the story. We got to the airport, waited a while because there was another complicated customer before us, after that we got the car in no time. Then I took pictures of the car from every angle just to avoid insurance issues after - this is the most simple and basic thing to do when you rent a car. The car worked fine, no issues, return was super simple, they checked it, no issues was found, probably helped too that we got the car washed fully before returning, because 10 days on rural roads had taken a toll on it. We are American/Hungarian, and this was our first time renting a vehicle in Hungary, so naturally we weren’t quite sure what to expect. Would they nitpick everything? Would they use the language barrier to their advantage? Would it be similar to the car rental process in the USA? We had zero issues. Totally professional and transparent from beginning to end. Pretty much exactly what you would expect from any car rental place. They also open super early which is great. We originally rented a Yaris, but got put in a Toyota CH-R instead. It’s a bigger car, so we did not mind We paid around 450 euros (including full coverage insurance) and racked up about 1100km over 8 days. The price included all the highway stickers/toll matrices etc I’m not an expert in Hungarian car rentals, but I will say this: I get the impression that the ‘full insurance coverage’ isn’t really optional, so my advice is to buy it. It’s not my favorite pricing practice in the world, but every Hungarian car rental place seems to use this model, and if you run the math on the deductible, the renter really does not have any other option. Beware—this was my first time using this company. I travel to Hungary every year and always rent a car, never any issues. As a side note, I’ve been renting vehicles as I travel all over the world and never had any problems. I fully acknowledge that when I returned the vehicle, there was a small scratch on the bumper (around 2 cm). However, I was charged €445 for the repair. It seems that this company can charge whatever amount they want at the airport, since people are always in a hurry. After checking with multiple sources, even a deep scratch down to the metal should cost no more than about €200 to fix in Hungary with a reputable repair shop. (Soon as I return I will also contact a Toyota dealer with a service shop and request an official estimate. Awful experience, never will I use them again.
