About Soroksári Botanikus kert
A Soroksári Botanikus Kert létesítését a Kertészeti és Szőlészeti Főiskola Tanácsa 1962-ben határozta el. Célja a növénytani gyakorlati oktatás fejlesztése volt, elősegítve, hogy a leendő kertészmérnökök közvetlen kapcsolatba kerüljenek a növényekkel.A létrehozott élőgyűjtemények az oktatás mellett a botanikai kutatásokat szolgálják, de ma már egyre inkább előtérbe kerülnek az ismeretterjesztési, turisztikai feladatok is: a Soroksári Botanikus Kert egyre népszerűbb a tanulni és kirándulni vágyó, a természet értékei iránt érdeklődők körében. A 60 ha-os Botanikus Kert Budapest XXIII. kerületében, a délpesti síkság szélén, Soroksár Péteri majorban található — alig 20 km-re a nyüzsgő nagyváros szívétől.

Budapest District XXIII is one of Budapest's 23 districts. Life in the capital moves at a big-city pace: businesses often keep longer hours than in smaller towns, many shops, bars and restaurants stay open late, and nonstop shops serve customers around the clock. The Danube banks, Buda Castle and Andrássy út are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Széchenyi, Gellért and Rudas baths and the ruin bars of District VII draw visitors all year. Public transport is run by BKK, with four metro lines, trams, buses and the HÉV suburban railway; on Friday afternoons and before long weekends the roads out of the city jam up, so leave extra time. In Budapest, BKK passes and tickets can be bought in the BudapestGO app, and parking in the centre is charged by zone, typically on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00.

There was a mushroom exhibition in the botanical garden, it is worth visiting regularly, the air is good, the plants are beautiful.

The place is perfect for walking around and enjoying the greenery. There is a fine selection of plants. What I miss is proper landscaping, nice vistas, picnic tables and benches along the way. I understand that this facility is university property with limited budget. However, with better management skills and salesmanship they could create a top attraction.

Absolutely Recommended. Lovely piece of nature, with a great "caretaker" who is kind and knowledgeable on his profession, I strongly recommend the guided tour... ... but you can visit only for a walk and air out your head as well. Strongly Recommended

A very nice place to visit in spring when the flowers start to blossom. There are signs and information boards along the trails that give you the names of the trees and flowers. However, the names are only in Hungarian, not available in Latin, or in English and German. There are guided tours on request. Ideal for nature enthusiasts, and students, but not really manageable with a wheelchair. There aren't any shops or snack bars. The toilets are hard to find. There's a parking lot for the visitors.
