after i arrived in the city center from the airport i was only thinking about one thing: being thirsty. this was the first supermarket i came across and even though it was quite small it turned out to be very well stocked. i also got persuaded along the way to pick up some snacks. the lady at the checkout helped me and she was very friendly. overall a great experience.

The worst experience in a Spar I just be there as tourist, The girl from the self payment (because the other cashiers were closed) the most rude and grumpy, un helpless and violent worker, Finally I couldn’t buy anything because is no her job help with the bakery and nobody was in the counter so impossible to pay. What happened with the customer service in this Supermarket in Hungary?

As far as I can see, most of the shop’s feedback replies are quite general “sorry” messages, simply hoping that things will be better next time. These standard responses don’t really show any sign that the recurring issues are being addressed or that there is a genuine intention to improve the service. Unfortunately, this kind of reply is unlikely to improve either the quality of the service or the overall customer experience. It would make a much better impression if the feedback included more specific, solution-oriented answers — for example, acknowledging the specific concern, briefly explaining what has been or will be done to prevent similar problems. This approach would not only show reliability but also help rebuild trust and demonstrate a real commitment to improving the situation.

My partner and I visited this store and bought a sandwich and a drink. We paid with cash at the self-checkout, and although the machine made the confirmation sound, it didn’t print a receipt. Because of that, we couldn’t exit the store. When we explained the situation to the staff member, she — with very limited English — implied that we hadn’t paid. She called the manager and explained the situation in their language. I also approached the manager and asked them to check the security footage. While waiting, I ended up eating their terrible sandwich right there. Instead of coming over to apologize or clarify things, they called staff member on the phone and eventually let us leave — after more than 10 min.

Good location and an okay selection, but the newly installed self-checkouts are an absolute bloody disaster. They are slow, confusing, and frustrating beyond belief. Easily the worst I have ever used. Staff are unhelpful and rude. Lots of room for improvement here.
