Kids are in a safe and inclusive place with lovely teachers. Hungarian and English are both used throughout the day. Our two babies attended and they loved it 😊

After one year at Belvárosi Játékovoda, I can say this is a one of a kind kindergarten, especially for parents looking for a play based, child centered kindergarten in downtown Budapest. The kindergarten follows the Reggio Emilia philosophy, with focus on the individual needs of each child. Children are treated first as human beings (with their own personalities, emotions, and rhythms) while learning how to function as part of a community. It’s fully play based, yet everyday life includes clear boundaries, gentle discipline, and structure, which creates a calm, safe, and well functioning environment. They learn all the skills they will need later for elementary by doing, watching, experimenting. Independence is encouraged, from self care and grooming to learning how to resolve conflicts in a respectful, age appropriate way. I see children thriving here! There is a sense of belonging. The teachers strive for each child to feel included and valued, while also nurturing the group as a whole. What speaks for itself is very often my daughter and other children don’t even want to go home when parents arrive, they want to stay. The kindergarten is located in Hercegprimas utca, by Arany

Belvárosi Játékóvoda is a nurturing and inspiring environment that embraces the Reggio Emília educational principles. The dedicated teachers are committed to bringing these philosophies to life, fostering a space where children can thrive and explore their interests. Just to mention a few focus areas: • Weekly Project Themes: Each week introduces new project themes that encourage curiosity and creativity, allowing children to dive deep into various subjects in engaging ways. • Free Play: Recognizing the importance of play in child development, the kindergarten provides ample opportunities for free play, enabling children to learn through exploration and imagination. • Child Focus: Every aspect of the curriculum is designed with the child's needs and interests at heart, promoting individualized learning experiences. Emphasis on Teamwork and Social Skills: In today's rapidly changing world, teamwork and social skills are paramount. This kindergarten prioritizes these areas by creating collaborative environments where children learn to work together, communicate effectively, and build lasting friendships. The goal is for every child to leverage these experiences to feel their best wh
