The most disrespectful place in Budapest, in the government offices they didn’t speak in English totally (( In this office you feel like a dog!!! P.S. one advice better to seat front of the any man there!!!

Health Insurance Department / BFKH Egészségbiztosítási Főosztály My experience with this department was disappointing and very stressful. The personnel were generally acceptable, improving English language will be helpful. but the system itself felt lacking in compassion, transparency, and practical support. As a Hungarian citizen returning home after many years abroad, I was shocked by the requirements, financial demands, and the way the process was handled. Instead of feeling welcomed or supported, the experience felt confusing, burdensome, and unnecessarily difficult. There appears to be a serious lack of resources, clear communication, and reasonable procedures for citizens who have lived outside the country and are trying to return and comply with Hungarian government requirements. The current approach does not feel helpful or fair to Hungarian citizens coming back home. In my opinion, this reflects poor leadership and a lack of effort to create a more humane, transparent, and reasonable process. Hungary should treat returning citizens with more dignity, clarity, and respect. That is major reason leaving Budapest Hungary and taking everything and everybody with me.

Had an issue with my health card. Gentleman spoke perfect English, was super helpful. Great!

Went here today for TAJ number application, was sent there from Korhaz utca office to finalize my application here. The lady behind the counter didn’t speak English(even if I needed to talk to someone in English) Was talking to me Hungarian with very expressive arrogance in her face and rolling her eyes on me. I presented myself with Czech passport identification and she kept calling me “Slovak” I told her: Im Czech, she kept saying: well Slovak you are is the same! Incompetent office who can’t even read in passports. Unhelpful and arrogant.I was here twice, solved nothing so far with them.

Very bad experience! This is already the fourth time I went there because of my papers. Every time they tell me to come again for a new reason. I always ask clearly what documents they need, but they never give a clear answer. Last time they told me to bring a student certificate, I had one with a date from last month, and they said it was fine as long as it was for the active semester. But when I went today, they suddenly said they want a new date on the paper! Her colleague was the one who said it was fine before. I always wait around two hours each time, and at the end there’s always a new issue. The behavior of the lady who wears glasses is very bad, she talks like a boss, very rude and aggressive, especially towards foreigners. Whenever I try to ask her something, she cuts me off and says, “I already told you what I want,” and doesn’t let me ask more questions. Very unprofessional attitude.
