Hálás vagyok, hogy a nagylányom Zsólyomi Blanka itt tanulhatott. A szakma szeretete mai napig elkíséri. Kiváló munkahelyeken dolgozott eddig, ahol magas szintű tudását kamatoztatta. Köszönetet szeretnék mondani elsősorban az iskola igazgatójának Pfeiffer Tamásnak, aki ilyen oktatási intézményt kovácsolt össze. S kívánom, hogy sok tehetséges diák kerüljön ki az igazgató szárnyai alól!

Az 1900-as évek elejének gazdasági fellendülése, valamint Bárczy István fõpolgármester szándéka nagyszabású iskolaépítési akciót indított Budapesten. Az ekkor felépült 36 új iskola közül a legigényesebb, legszebb kivitelezésű a Vas utca 9-11. alatt 1912-ben létesült Gróf Széchenyi István Felsőkereskedelmi Fiúiskola (ma Széchenyi István Kereskedelmi Szakgimnázium) épülete. Tervezője Lajta Béla (1875-1920), Lechner Ödön és Kós Károly mellett a századforduló harmadik jeles építésze. Lajta a népi építészet és iparművészet emlékeit gyűjtötte azzal a céllal, hogy ezeket – a modern építészet alapelveinek és formáinak alkalmazásával – felhasználja egy újabb magyar építészeti stílus alapjaiként. Tervezése már túlmutat a szecesszión és a funkcionalista építészet nemzetközileg is jelentős alkotása.

This school is one of the best examples of art nouveau / art deco, and almost everything remained intact. If you can get in, you will see all the beautiful details. Wonderful architecture.
