Its the second most fun public transport in Budapest (the first one is the childrens railway). You can get from the inner city to the beautiful forest and mountains in just 17 minutes. I use it to go up with my bike to ride some dh trails. Everybody should try it!

Interesting, Historic Place In Budapest. We sometimes Take the Cog-Wheel Railway up to Gyermekvasút. We had a great time riding it and wish to take it again soon. ✨🚃

Fantastic experience using this wonderful cogwheel train to visit Budapest mountain. You will feel like step back in time with the old travelling style. The train is beautiful, clean and comfortable. In the winter you will be amazed with the scene covered in white snow. It looks like getting lost in a fairy land. Magical view and so peaceful. At the end of cogwheel train line, you can continue discover the mountain with children train which operates by children.
