2 adults, 2 kids age 6,8 $43 dollars for a 43 second ride on one way ticket. Straight rip-off !!! Never doing that again. ooooo you want to use the bathroom, no problem another $1 dollar each.

The two rude women working there: one selling tickets and the other organizing the sitting were very nasty right away. At some point they were literally barking at people like we’re in some training camp. I honestly started wondering if I missed a sign that said “enter at your own risk.” Not just cold, but straight-up aggressive! They tried to split me and my small child into different cabins. Yes, separate a kid from their parent. Who thinks that’s normal? When I said that’s not okay, instead of explaining anything, they started raising their voices and arguing. Zero basic manners, zero basic understanding. The whole time they had this attitude like they were doing us a favor, meanwhile tickets are around €40 for 30 seconds lift. For that price, you’d expect at least basic politeness. Nope, just attitude and yelling. They completely killed the vibe. Honestly, I’m just going to dispute the charge with my card because the whole experience was ruined anyway. And if they’re reading this - you should be ashamed of yourselves!

I didn’t try the Funicular in Budapest but tried in Prague. Experience seems to be great but a wee walk was what I enjoyed. A definite recommendation to the ones who doesn’t want to walk or the one who haven’t tried it earlier.

As seniors we took a free bus ride (No 16) to the Fisherman's Bastion stop but always planned to ride the funicular back down. There was no queue for tickets at the top but they are for a return journey so we gave them away for a one way ride back to the top to a couple waiting to buy tickets. There was a queue to get on board at the bottom of the hill because people want to avoid the climb. If you want the best view its a good idea to take the lowest carriage area. That way you get an unobstructed front view

Recommend!! This ride is amazing with the night view... As n when the car raises to the top the view gets better and mesmerizing.. the rates are reasonable and you must try it out.. of course you can walk up the castle from stairs but you wud miss on elevated views of the chain Bridge ... Also note that don't lose the ticket as you need it to come down via same car..
