Really beautiful place, especially when it's hot outside and you just want to cool off for a moment. If you want to go to the special 4th floor, you have to pay around 5€ for the entrance. Of course really quite but beautiful.

I loved this library as one of my favorites in the world I ever visited in the world. The rooms from the 19th century are incredibly well preserved and can be found on the fourth floor. Even the staircases and view of the lobby where the cafe is are quite interesting to behold and one can imagine some optical illusions here. Try to find the gigantic dinosaur within sight of the library! You can spend at least an hour here and find plenty of hidden things.

Nice library to visit. We were there on a tuesday afternoon, and all the rooms were filled with students, but there were also plenty of tourists to take pictures so that it wasnt weird to take photographs. The entrance fee for a day pass is 2000 HUF. If you take the staircase to the 4th floor there is a white door (and a sign/information brochure stand) leading you to the old part of the library. We were able to sit down to read a book in one of the adjourning rooms

My favorite library on earth! Super nice and quiet for exam prep, studying and working! I was able to concentrate for so long and you felt like a princess studying here! Gorgeous view and natural lighting from the big windows. For students, you can register for a library card that costs only a few hundred forints for a full year access!! There are different options and plans in the reception desk. All staff speak pretty good English at the reception!

Visited on a regular weekday while in Budapest. It is easy to find. We were waiting outside for this place to open. The old door was impressive. When you enter the building, you get to an indoor garden, again impressed. Entrance isn't free. And you have to find your own way. The person selling us the entrance ticket wasn't very talkative or helpful. We found the floor with the city palace and rooms accessible with our entrance ticket. The place was nice and well-kept. However, not as impressive as the picture suggests. The Library with a staircase is smaller, yet still in use, and is filled with modern, marked books. Doesn't do its history justice. We were inside for a good 20 minutes. Worth it if you're around. Not worth a detour.
