Gellért Thermal Bath is without doubt one of the most beautiful thermal baths in Budapest. The indoor pools are especially impressive, with their grand hall and decorative tiles, while the outdoor pool offers a relaxed contrast. Even without rushing, it is easy to spend hours here simply enjoying the space, the water, and the unique ambience.

Gellért Bath is one of those truly iconic places that you simply must visit when you are in Budapest. The building itself is beautiful and full of history, with stunning Art Nouveau architecture, elegant halls, colorful mosaics, and a classic atmosphere that reflects the city’s rich spa culture. Walking inside already feels like stepping into a piece of Budapest’s heritage. The thermal baths and pools are very enjoyable and relaxing. The water temperature is perfect, and there is a good variety of indoor and outdoor pools, which makes it suitable for both relaxation and light swimming. While it is not a luxury spa in the modern sense, it still offers a very authentic and charming experience. Everything feels traditional rather than extravagant, and that is part of its appeal. The facilities are generally well maintained, though some areas clearly show their age. This doesn’t take away from the overall experience, but it is worth knowing in advance so expectations are realistic. Gellért Bath is more about history, atmosphere, and tradition than high-end luxury. The food and restaurant options inside the bath are just okay. The quality is average, and it’s not something I would re

I visited this place for being the most beautiful thermal bath in Budapest and now I heard it closed just after I visited. The place really needed renovation as it was dated and needed better setup in terms of finding your way around and changing rooms. Otherwise it was a wonderful place to be. I am looking forward to visit again once reopens.

The architectural of this place is stunning. We were lucky we got to visit before closing on October 1st. They will open again in 2028, restauration I assume. Swimming cap is required only on the big pool, where there is also a life guard. The only downside of this place, but this is something that perhaps they cannot control, is the violation of the rules. In saunas you're not allowed with slippers on and you have to sit on your towel, yet so many people did not obey that. In order for people to feel and be safe, I suggest applying fines for people who do not follow the rules. Health is not something you can joke with! Besides that, we had a relaxing time!

Probably the most beautiful building one can imagine to bath in with an affordable price and easy access. Highly recommend to book tickets with cabin especially when traveling with your SO. I would highly recommend to bring a water proof bag to place your phone if you plan to take some photos. Slippers/flip flops and towels are a must and they are expensive to buy at the bath so pack well in advance. We truly enjoyed the pools in different temperatures and the nicely landscaped outdoor pools. We spent about 3 hours there and left feeling reinvigorated. The building is in need of some updates such as patching missing tiles or repairing damaged sculptures. The fountains at the indoor hot pools were not functioning while we were there as well. We were worried about the sanitation at the bath, but it was way cleaner than expected. Of course, there's always room for improvement. If you would like to relax and enjoy good architecture at the same time while in Budapest, this is the place for you.
