A legendary restaurant in the burbs of Pest, Gombás is highly recommended for not only, but especially foreign visitors. A bright jewel in an unseemly location next to the fairgrounds of its neighborhood, this elegant and friendly place boasts a sizeable menu of Hungarian specialities and fan favorites. Staff are friendly and professional, the flavors are all authentic and harmonious. Do check it out at your earliest convenience.

Located reasonably out of the way of main areas, so for tourists you'd have to go a bit out of your way. Went for a bite with my in-laws. Some help with the language might be required as obviously they dont really aim at non-Hungarians but for real Hungarian dishes it's really recommended. Food is great and portions are to local standards (which means: huge). Don't forget to try their palinkas!!!

Our first experience was pretty good here, but the next was below average. Place staff seemed understaffed, we had to wait 10+ mins beverages. Food is mid priced, but focus is more on quantity than quality. I think we’ll not be frequent guests here.
