Amazing authentic Hungarian food. Definitely not a place that many tourists visit however, staff didn't speak any English and there were locals coming and going constantly. Not really ideal to sit in and eat as well. However the schnitzel was incredible - you could literally hear them tenderize the meat in the kitchen before battering and frying it. Similarly the sausages were amazing. A culinary highlight of Budapest for us.

Fine dining is nice, but this place proves that nothing can beat authenticity. You can catch a glimpse of everyday life in Budapest, watching locals quickly grab a meal and head back to work. On top of that, the food was absolutely delicious—I wish I had more room, because I wanted to try everything on the menu. It’s a place I’d definitely want to return to whenever I visit Budapest. Highly recommend to visit for single or very small groups because this place is not for long time dining. :-)

Chanced upon this lovely local diner while on our way to the Museum of Fine Arts. As typical tourist, we looked lost but were swiftly handed an English menu by the lovely lady over the counter. The pork schnitzel and sausage were amazing, highly recommended!

Local food. Food has a homely made feel to it. Staff helpful in explaining the dishes to us. There was even a kids meal available, which our kids enjoyed. We had the Goulash and Blood Sausage. Both were finger licking tasty..

We had a delicious lunch here, with tasty food that was served quickly, leaving us very satisfied. The owner was extremely friendly, taking the time to explain the menu to us, and we chose some local dishes. They also provided a kids’ menu for our child, who was very happy with it.
