Atrocious customer service. The porcelains are whimsical but most certainly not high quality enough to summon this level of arrogance.

I was very disappointed by my experience at the Herend porcelain store in Budapest. The girls at the entrance were unfriendly and unwelcoming from the very beginning. For a luxury porcelain brand, I expected much more information about the pieces on display. There were only price tags — no details about the collections, no history, no information about when the factory started producing them. I started filming a short video on my phone, and one of the employees spoke to me very rudely, demanding not only that I stop filming, but also that I delete the video from my phone immediately. I understand rules about photography and copyrights, but there is absolutely no reason to speak to customers in such an aggressive manner. In the end, I left the store without making a purchase solely because of the rude attitude of the staff toward customers.

If you are looking for fine porcelain or china this is the place for you. We had our selection shipped and it arrived in perfect condition. I could (did) spend hours looking at the offerings in this shop. The service staff went above and beyond helping us fine the exact peice we were looking for even though it took about an hour to locate the exact design. (See photo)

The place has been renovated and it looked completely different from the previous year in an expectedly more elegant and graceful way. The sales managers are friendly and professional; they are more than happy to show you around and ask what you are looking for. Tax refund service is available. I have shopped at this place on every trip to Budapest.
