Today, my friends and I visited this huge shop called Hockeylab to buy skates, skate guards, and waxed laces. Unfortunately, no one spoke English at first, until they called over a guy to help us. Thankfully, he spoke very well and was really friendly otherwise we wouldn’t have bought anything without all the information and help about profiling, fitting, or even the gear we might need later. His name was a bit strange for us Israelis, it sounded like Niko or something, but he kindly let us call him Mike. So thank you, Mike, for everything you are the best and the most welcoming person we’ve met in your country! 🙂

Okay where do I start, I basically traveled to Budapest from Ireland for this specific store. Never being inside a hockey store in my life, this was something spectacular. In the door I noticed great vibes and atmosphere, a cool Xmas tree with HockeyLab ornaments. Everyone in there was super cool. I was nervous as I don't speak Hungarian and I was afraid I couldn't understand. We had a great time, I was in the store for a long time. Several options of skates, gloves, helmets, Bauer apparel, hats, slides, hoodies, the Bauer insoles I desperately needed. We were chatting, they scanned my feet, explained everything to me, allowed me to try on multiple skates, even shin guards they helped me with. Walking around the store, blown away, the stick rack, all of the latest sticks, cool CCM sticks, Bauer Twitch my favourite, a cool little shooting pad. A great selection of sick tapes, green biscuits, there is nothing for hockey that this store does not have and multiple options at that. Even cool NHL team t-shirts. I got a little Nashville Zamboni. I spent a little bit in there I guess. Even though I didn't leave with skates, which was my plan if my previous comment is still here, I left wit
