I loved having the air cond at this place given the hot weather when we were there. This apartment is quite spacious. The host was very responsive to my Whatsapp messages and dealt with my minor issues very quickly. There's a washing machine (very old fashioned one with a clip-on metal drum that we had to work out how to use with chatgpt's help), clothes airer, dining table and chairs, kitchen (but not sufficient crockery or pans etc to do any decent cooking), kettle, good shower, bath shower gel was provided. There was an elevator in the building. This large building is a mixed usage building. There's even a dental practice in this building block right next to the elevator. The apartment is quite a few doors along from that. The rest of the apartments look like they were occupied by regular tenants and residents. Good location to the major sights and there are restaurants close by within walking distance. For improvement I think the place could do with at least 2 better towels (we were given only 1 quite worn out towel each for our four nights) and more crockery and cutlery to match the kitchen cooking capabilities. The location is very good and the flat itself was clean at a good standard and spacious. However, there were issues... I had booked a room with two queen beds through Expedia but was given only one. The host was kind and eventually helped, but only after I raised the issue. Some proactivity in explaining the issue to me and Expedia -- prior to my arrival -- would have been appreciated since the host knew I'd arrive after 9:30pm. The host initially suggested it was my mistake as I should've told him, though my Expedia booking clearly stated the room type. The problem was resolved the next day with one queen and two single beds, but there was no prior communication and I arrived late, which made it quite inconvenient... The building is quite old and resembles a modest tenement-style complex, with many small units and a somewhat chaotic atmosphere. While I can’t confirm anything, the environment around some neighbouring units felt questionable. In short, while the flat has its positives, I wouldn’t recommend it. For a small difference in price, you can find better managed hotels nearby.

Great host: Janos is such a helpful and nice person. He gave us good advise on places to go and made sure we had everything we needed. Room: Nice, new and clean for an affordable price. Everything that we needed was in the apartment (hairdryer, kettle, tableware, blankets, shampoo etc). Location: perfectly located in the city center, where we could walk to literally ALL sightseeing spots. Big plus is that the location is still quiet despite being in the city center. All in all, I can definitely recommend Katona Apartments. Thank you for a wonderful stay Janos! -Vanessa and family.

I decided to book this apartment because of the good reviews on Google, and I don't really know how it can have such a high score. I definitely do not recommend this apartment if you have a dust allergy, asthma or if you simply like to stay in a clean and healthy environment. It has been a terrifying experience. I had asthma attacks throughout my stay and the owner refused to refund me, which meant I was unable to change hotel. Last but not least, when I notified him of the condition of the apartment, the owner showed up without notice. He knocked on the door twice and I didn't answer because I was sleeping, so he tried to open the door with his key. Luckily, I had my key inserted in the lock and he couldn't open. I don't recommend it at all.

The best place to stay!!! Specially if you traveling with big family!! I love the rooms and the location!!!! Owner was very helpful and easy to contact with any questions. Location is just amazing, walking distance from river, Citadela, subway.... I will book this place again and I would recommend it if you are looking to stay in Budapest.
