It was about a 30 min public transit ride from the pest side of the city, but we'll worth the trip. Communication was difficult, but us foreigners were imposing on them so it's absolutely fine. Many reviews talk about the wait, but we were seated right away and our food came out in about 20 min and it's been the best food we have had in the city so far!

Absolute gem of a local place. The food was delicious. We were happy with everything we ordered. The portions were very generous and the food was delicious. The owner was very kind and put her soul into the restaurant. The only downside is that there isn't wait staff or kitchen staff. I think the majority of it is done by the owner - which is why it is all such high quality and delicious goodness. Just be prepared to wait a while and enjoy the experience. If we're ever in the area we'll be back again!

WOW! This place was so so good. The food was in giant portions and tasted so good. We got a soup which was a very good bean and bacon tasting one. We also got two traditional plates. A beef and potatoes on a bed of fried onions, and a almost Onion sandwich with eggs and meat inside. It so so good, everything tastes heavenly. Also the owner was so friendly and even gave us a free soda for our family. Totally recommend to anyone!

A very beautiful tavern half an hour away from the tourist center of budapest. The food was absolutely amazing. Very big portions, very tasty and quality food. The wine and beer were also of very high quality and the glasses were full! We also ordered pancakes in the end. The taste and portions were amazing. The owner of the restaurant a very helpull and kind host. Very professional at everything. The waitress was helpfull and kind as well. The service was very rapid, they brought everything quickly. The perfect place to eat like a local, away from tourist traps. I highly recommend it. The next time i will come to budapest i will eat again there for sure. Such a pity i leave tomorrow! Forgot to tell, the prices were super! No comparison to the tourist traps of the center

A cozy suburban spot serving warm, home-style Hungarian food. The dishes were served quickly, portions were very generous, and the food was delicious. It’s not so much for tourists, but more for those spending some time in Budapest and looking to explore beyond the city center.
