Extensive art museum covering periods of art in different parts of Europe. Mostly comprised of statues, carvings and paintings. The room layout works quite well if you are trying to follow time periods. Just use the provided map.

I attended at 10am on a Friday in July. I was the only person on the 1st floor, exploring wonderful European art of the 17th century. I am sure the museum will attract crowds of people later in the day but I had pretty much a private exhibition.

Very nice art museum, while not with huge famous pieces it is compensating with best context signs, for every room and even indevidual items. Super well organized, you feel you travel through time and countries and art topics. M thing here is just hanging everything is in context of the story the museum is telling you. Superb experience

Museum of Fine Arts is an impressive museum both inside and out, housed within a grand building that immediately conveys a sense of importance and scale. The vast entrance halls are striking but can initially feel a little empty. However, once you move into the museum’s wings, the true depth of the collection becomes apparent. The galleries are packed with diverse and impressive works, spanning different periods, styles and cultures. Everything is well displayed and easy to navigate, allowing the collection to speak for itself without feeling cluttered or overwhelming. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or a casual visitor, there is enough variety to keep your interest throughout.

Comprehensive art museum. Many wonderful and unique items. Holds the only sculpture by Leonardo DeVinci in existence, a horse rearing back on two hooves. With rider. Very famous and special. It’s in the center of Gallery XX, First Floor, European Art 1250–1600. The Hungarian sculptor István Ferenczy (17,92-1856) bought the statuette as a classical Greek bronze between 1818 and 1824 in Rome. Not long after 1914, when the work came to the museum, it was displayed as the only surviving sculpture by Leonardo. Although the famous artist received many commissions for sculptures, little trace of them remains. Both of the colossal equestrian monuments that he undertook ended in failure: the clay model for the statue of Francesco forza (1401-1466) in Milan was destroyed before casting, while the other, planned for Gian Giacomo Trivulzio (1440/1441-1518), was never completed. The equestrian monument of Francis I (1515-1547) is only supposed to be planned by Leonardo. Therefore, we only know about his sculptural works from enthusiastic accounts of his contemporaries and from his notes and preparatory drawings. Leonardo conceived both Milanese monuments with rearing horses, however, the execu
