We stopped by Városliget Restaurant after walking through Budapest in the intense summer heat, and it was exactly what we needed. The pineapple-mint lemonade was incredibly refreshing, and the pistachio white-chocolate cake with raspberry ice cream was sweet, comforting, and delicious. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with a lovely atmosphere. Special thanks to Dávid for his excellent, friendly, and attentive service. Highly recommended!

My friend and I had a fantastic lunch at Városliget Café! We debated for a while about where to eat, but choosing this restaurant was definitely the right decision. The ambiance of the café is absolutely lovely, and the staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly. For our meals, we ordered the chicken and the duck. I have to give a special shout-out to the duck dish—it was perfectly cooked, wonderfully mixed with a delicious curry, and is an absolute must-try if you visit! The location is also unbeatable. It’s situated right by Heroes' Square, making it the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat while sightseeing. There are so many great tourist attractions within walking distance. I highly recommend stopping by if you are exploring the area!

We loved our experience at this restaurant! The setting is peaceful and offers an incredible view of the castle, making the whole experience even more special. The food was great! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with live music creating the perfect backdrop for a relaxing meal! A special thank you to Adam, who took great care of us throughout our visit! He was attentive and explained everything clearly! I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food, outstanding service, and a truly memorable view. We would happily come back again!

Fabulous place for lunch, dinner or just to take a coffee brake. The food is extraordinary - many options for starters, main dishes or desserts. In the menu you have an excellent wine suggestion. There is a dedicates kid place with a baby-sitter. While eating - you can enjoy the view if the lake.

Absolutely stunning café experience in Budapest. The Városliget Sacher cake was exceptional — rich, elegant, and honestly one of the best desserts I’ve had here. The café and restaurant itself has a wonderfully peaceful ambiance, blending late 19th and early 20th century elegance with tasteful modern touches. The atmosphere is made even more special by the views of the Danube and the ice skating highlights surrounding the café and restaurant. The service staff were incredibly attentive, professional, and very patient with me as a tourist asking all sorts of questions — including how to pronounce the castle next door, which I still can’t say properly, haha. Their friendliness made the whole experience feel even warmer and more welcoming. Adding to the atmosphere was a fantastic live guitarist and singer playing softly in the background, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing late midday / early afternoon coffee and dessert stop. Highly recommended for anyone looking for amazing desserts, beautiful scenery, and a refined traditional Budapest atmosphere.
