This was my highlight of my second trip to Budapest. As I did all the touristy things the first time around, I wanted to hit some design spots. This villa is incredible! Though it’s small (I was able to do the visit in under an hour) I was able to learn a lot about Hungary’s design history. The resident art historian, Livia, took me on a personal tour because there weren’t many patrons that day, opened up furniture so I could see inside, and opened the roof terrace so I could visit. She even took me to another nearby exhibit and opened it up just for me. She even gave me more recommendations for a neighborhood of Bauhaus houses to go visit. Never have I experienced such kindness and welcoming hospitality at a museum, this is an absolute must for any design or architecture fan visiting Budapest! Thank you again Livia for the wonderful visit.

Recently renovated modernist villa is today a beautiful museum of a designer couple. If you like amazing graphic and furniture design don’t avoid to visit this little gem!

Restored modernist villa with furniture from the 1930-1940 Hungarian nationalist furniture and textile design. The shop is poor but the staff id motivated and open the door for you to the rooftop terrace. The bunker is also fun. Worth a visit.

Beautiful building in a quiet neighbourhood ten minutes away from the city centre. The restoration of this villa is absolutely fantastic, very respectful. The workers here were extremely kind, and seemed genuinely happy to have us there. If you happen to be in Budapest, don’t miss it!
