BEWARE OF THE SCAM! If you’re a foreigner trying to get a new phone number/SIM, they will very likely try to scam you by telling you that you HAVE TO buy a data plan to be able to buy a number and you can’t get a plain SIM. Which is absolutely BS. You can get a plain prepaid SIM with 1GB data and 30 mins free calls for only 589 ft, but instead they told me I have to buy at least 5000 ft data plan in order to get a SIM. Then when I confronted the employee, he said they had the option to buy a plain SIM until a month ago but it was removed, which was just another lie. Then I said “okay then I will go buy from somewhere else”, the guy suddenly changed his mind and told me that I can, in fact, get a basic plan for 589 ft. But then, he tried to get me top-up my balance at least 3000 ft or otherwise I can’t get the number, which was, of course, another lie/scamming tactic. I declined it and got the basic plan for 589ft eventually. So ,in short, they will try everything, tell you all kinds of BS just to make you pay significantly more money just because you’re a foreigner and you don’t know the rules. Stand your ground, push back and save your money! BTW, this is not just behavior of one

I’ve been in Hungary for 3 years. My sim card has always been Yettel. I’ve been to many different yettel branches across Budapest and even in this branch as well, but today a person named “Istvan” was in charge of helping. I can confidently say in my 3 years of living here, I have never met someone so professional at their job, specifically in any Yettel store. He was extremely knowledgeable of their services which was amazing because I’ve been to many different branches and they always confused their services somehow. He was very kind and professional, explained everything thoroughly and clearly. I’m writing this review because I think he deserves to be mentioned here. 10/10 customer service.

Excellent experience at this Yettel store in Budapest. The staff was extremely kind, professional and helpful throughout the whole process. The store is modern, beautiful and very well designed, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Everything looked clean, organized and technologically advanced. I truly appreciated the quality of the service and the professionalism of the team. Highly recommended.

Excellent service by Imre, quick and efficient! Inexpensive to get a local sim card for a few days or more.

if you are a foreigner. never, I repeat never connect to yetel. They will give you a contract that cannot be terminated remotely, you will not even be able to change the tariff plan. they also have a very large lack of English-speaking support.
