Whether you dance Tango or not , do not miss the weekly Tuesday live orchestra concert with vibrant tunes, revisited classic tangos, or modern improvisations on classical pieces Also several beautiful Piazzola themes. Then you may dance or watch the milonga that follows..while enjoying a glass of wine. All this for less than 2000 huf

A great disappointment. This milonga claims to be the only one in Budapest with live tango music but it is not a milonga neither the live music is any good. I paid the equivalent of 5 EUR to get in, just to be held hostage for a total hour by a band that assassinated some great tango songs and also introduced some of their own, undanceable stuff. Dancing level was average to poor anyway so attendees had other things to worry about. When the music actually started, the tandas were lousy, with some very poor choices. After three the DJ started playing stuff that was not even nuevo tango, several tandas of it. I questioned the staff and the organizer and they said that the place is advertised as a "neo tango venue", I saw none of this in the webpage that keeps track of things tango in Hungary. If I knew the band was so weird and that after a few crappy tandas they were going to start playing non-tango, I would have given this place a wide berth and spent my money having a beer at one of the many nice bars of Budapest. Owner and staffer were unsympathetic and did not offer a refund, despite being told that I wasn't at all happy and was leaving after dancing one tanda. Their attitude wa
