My experience made me question whether the studio's actions reflected the yogic values it promotes. I personally felt that commercial priorities were placed above the principles of respect and integrity that I expected from a yoga community.

Most of the teachers have been here for a long time, most of them are close to 50 or over. As a result they have lost their passion, general attitude is they no longer care. Yoga simply is something they talk about, but not something they do. In an encounter with one of teachers previously, I got a rash overnight due to anxiety triggering (see photo). I also noticed this on a few other students as well after coming to this studio. Second issue is there are male students with severe body odor or weight issues visiting the studio (these are medically treatable conditions, but not curable here). Therefore the locker room and toilet area need deep clean and de-ordoring.

I can highly recommend Downdog Yoga Studio. The staff are really kind and really take great care of everyone in the class. I’m currently taking their beginner yoga course, and I look forward to every session. The atmosphere is cozy and familiar — the studio is inside an apartment near Oktogon, which makes it feel warm and personal. Classes are held in both English and Hungarian, which is ideal for me as a beginner who needs clear, calm guidance. The class structure is easy to follow, the online booking works perfectly in English, and the price is very fair for Budapest. A wonderful studio that truly brightens my week. Highly recommended! 🧘‍♀️✨

excellent yoga studio in a beautiful building. was visiting budapest for three days and wanted to see a local class. i've completed my training in classical yoga, so was not interested in bikram or other offerings in the city. my yoga practice is guided by the experience of cessation of the fluctuations of the mind (yog chitta vriti nirodhra). I took the hatha yoga - for spinal health class with Zsoldos Janka in Hungarian/English. She did a fantastic job at creating an asana sequence that was healing, well paced, well rounded, and by the end of it my mind had settled. will come back next time i'm in town.

I have been going to this studio almost for a year. I highly recommend this studio who wants to start yoga or advance their yoga skills. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to yoga teachers Nikoletta Szűcs and Anita Hevesi, whose classes I attended most frequently than others because of my schedule. They offer different classes from beginner to advanced level and I highly recommend their classes as it has calm atmosphere, supportive teaching and clear guidance. Their classes helped me maintain balance, reduce stress, and prioritize my physical and mental well-being throughout the year.
