Nice waiter. Food is nice and we’ve had both breakfast and dinner here. Breakfast has plenty of variety. Dishes are fairly priced for being a hotel and the portion is decent. Goulash is authentic and delicious and desserts are fancy as well. If you’re in the area then definitely give it a go.

I recently had the best goulasch soup of my life at this restaurant. The food was amazing, and I recommend it to everyone. The waiter was super nice and made the experience even better. Great place to eat!

Hotel restaurants are always tricky. They have to appease everyone whilst upsetting no one. After a flight and a taxi transfer the staff welcomed us so nicely. We had a great meal and the staff were warm and welcoming. Breakfasts were tasty and the selection was enormous. I ate twice for lunch, lovely salads on both occasions and the cheeky beers were perfect temperature. As with every other occasion the staff were great.

One of the worst restaurant that I have ever been to. The food was poor quality. Steak was far away from the standard. Goulash was more a soup rather than a stew. But the worst was the staff. All thanks to one waitress who was really rude and unpleasant when the group of 12 people wanted to eat a dinner. There was plenty of free tables but the waitress put a remark that we have to “give them a notice” when such a big group would like to dine. Throwing silverware at the table and being rude apparently was a customer care that the restaurant offer. So if you want to eat poor quality food for a quite high price and experience the hostility of the restaurant staff, you couldn’t choose better place. Avoid this place unless you are starving.

This is second time at Hotel Rubin and have eaten several times at Essence. Service is good, food is average but beware priced do not Include service charge. 2 course medl for 1 = £40. My pet peeve is I really like goulash, ordered it 2 nights In a row but unlike all the other male customers mine was not served with extra chili in a small pot. Once is a mistake, twice reeks of misogyny
