Today morning this facility van hit my shoulder and ran away on the island. After hit the van accelerated and ran away with speeding. I found the facility and asked for help but the lady with glasses on the reception pretended don't understand what I say. More surprisingly she threw her phone on the desk and said call police like it's not a new thing. This is worst experience I've ever had. Their vans are speeding all over the island and threatening people.

This is a swimming complex. Availabke to the public. It is open from 6am to 9pm. Adults pay HUF 2,600 between 7am-3pm and HUF 1750 after 3pm. Students under 25 years pay HUF 1600.

I swam here three times during a week-long business trip to Budapest, and it quickly became my favorite pool in the city. Located on the beautiful Margaret Island, the Alfred Hajós National Aquatics Complex is an excellent choice for both serious swim training and recreational swimming. Admission is very affordable—2,500 HUF for a regular day pass, while early birds arriving at 6:00 AM pay just 1,500 HUF. The iconic 50-meter Olympic pool is primarily used by competitive swimming and water polo teams, and it's worth watching the training sessions if you have the chance. Public lane swimming takes place in the excellent 33-meter outdoor pool, which has eight lanes and a uniform depth of 2.2 meters, making it ideal for continuous swimming. There are also diving boards for those interested. The water temperature was comfortable during all of my visits, and despite the pool's popularity, I never had to share a lane with more than three swimmers. The facility also offers lockers, clean showers, and well-maintained changing rooms. My only criticism is the lack of a pace clock, which makes structured interval sessions slightly less convenient. I really enjoy swimming here, and overall it’s a peaceful, clean and well-maintained facility. It’s a great place if you’re looking to focus on swimming without the crowds. The one area that could definitely be improved is the café upstairs. It feels very outdated and the food and drink selection is extremely limited. I understand this is a swimming pool rather than a full spa or beach, but people still spend hours here and would appreciate more options. It would be great to see simple additions like fresh sandwiches, toasties, salads, better coffee and a wider selection of drinks. It doesn’t need to become a full restaurant, but a more modern and varied menu would make a big difference. Other than that, it’s a lovely swimming facility and I always enjoy coming here. Hopefully the café will be updated in the future 🙂

You can buy a swim + run ticket that allows you to swim, then to go out on the island to run 1 or 2 loops... then to come back inside to swim/ to take a sauna/ to take a shower !! ❤️❤️🫶🤘🤘
