One of the main train stations in the city, serving both domestic and international routes. It’s also very well connected to buses, trolleybuses, trams, and the metro, making it a great place to get almost anywhere in the city. Architecturally, it’s a real gem. With more than 100 years of history, it still has a unique character and charm. I only wish people appreciated it more and took better care of this beautiful piece of the city’s history.

Train stations are at heart of Budapest life. The building is distinct with gracious style and very functional. There is an information center in the lower level who are extremely helpful in planning your trip anywhere the train goes. Just grab a number a wait your turn and they will spend as much time as you need. The service was friendly and expert. I only have this station 4 stars because food options inside the station are limited and not superb.

Budapest's main train station. The exterior looks like it has been updated, while keeping its old style. And the interior looks like a classic European train station. I preferred Keleti with its wide open square in the front over Nyugati which just abuts the busy street with its facade mostly obscured by trees.

Budapest Keleti Railway Station is a large and busy transportation hub with a classic architectural style. The station is well-organized, and it’s relatively easy to find platforms thanks to the information boards. There are also shops and food options inside, which makes waiting more comfortable. Overall, a practical and important station for both local and international travel.

I've spent 48 hours in Budapest. It's very easy to get to the centre from this train station. If you are a walker 25 - 30 minutes . If you prefer to travel , well plenty of other options - taxi , bus , tram.
