I would like to sincerely thank David for his outstanding service at OTP Bank. As a foreigner who has recently moved to Hungary, opening a bank account can be a stressful process, but David made everything much easier. He was very professional, patient, and took the time to explain every step clearly in English. What impressed me most was not only his competence but also his empathy and willingness to help. He made sure I understood everything and answered all my questions with kindness and professionalism. I highly recommend David to any foreigner looking to open a bank account in Hungary.

Very bad service, Called to do data reconciliation 3 times when i had already provided all the information and told i am good, Only to be threatened that my account will be closed. When i ask why the lady says its because I am a foreigner.. so what ?

Non-Hungarian-speaking clients are ignored. I had read about it in some other reviews, but decided to give it a try. They were seating every person that arrived after me, so I left to bring my business to a different bank.

WORST service EVER!!! don't deserve even 1 STAR! I had an appointment at 14h30, I waited for 1 hour and no one cared that I stand there for such time and I have an APPOINTMENT! other customer came in and take there ticket number after 5 min their turn arrived and I'm still standing there like a ghost! you should prioritize appointments so what's the purpose of an appointment? like what management is that! a HORRIBLE one, it will be my first and last time coming to OTP Keleti agency.

I arrived in the morning, took my queue card to open a bank account, and sat down quietly to wait for my turn. I waited for 2.5 hours. For 2.5 hours, I watched countless Hungarian-speaking customers be serviced despite coming in after me. In fact, I waited until there were no other customers except one other lady and still, I was told to "wait". In the end, I walked away and received service at Raffeisen Bank in under 10 minutes with proficient English-speaking staff. Perhaps it is not a coincidence that all other non-Hungarian speaking customers did not receive the service they wanted. Perhaps it is not a coincidence that my friend, a foreign student, was told earlier that week that he could not open a bank account due to there being no Hungarian speaking person with him. Last time I checked, that was not in OTP's policies. All I am saying is racism and xenophobia seem to show its ways subtly beyond insults and violence. Sadly, this branch of OTP, or perhaps the entire bank, seems to be a part of this issue. Please, do NOT waste your time with this bank.
