About Pesto Café & Restaurant

Located at Budapest, Nagytétényi út 37, 1225, Pesto Café & Restaurant operates as a restaurant serving Budapest District XXII. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Restaurants in Hungary usually open from around 11:00 until about 22:00, while bars and ruin bars stay open much later from Thursday to Saturday. On weekdays many places serve a napi menü, a fixed-price lunch of soup and a main course, typically from 11:00 to 15:00. Book a table for Friday and Saturday evenings and public holidays. Many bills already include a service charge (usually 10–15%); if not, a tip of around 10% is customary but never compulsory. Many restaurants also accept the SZÉP card, the employer-funded leisure card.

According to Google, Pesto Café & Restaurant keeps these hours: daily, 11:00–20:00. It is open seven days a week. It opens on Sunday too, as many restaurants and cafés in Hungary do. Expect changes around holidays such as Christmas Eve, Christmas, Easter and 20 August, and call first if you are making a special trip. You can reach Pesto Café & Restaurant on +36 1 424 3434; calling is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

It has a Google rating of 3.7 out of 5, though from only 3 reviews so far, so treat the score as an early indication rather than a verdict.

Budapest District XXII is one of Budapest's 23 districts. Life in the capital moves at a big-city pace: businesses often keep longer hours than in smaller towns, many shops, bars and restaurants stay open late, and nonstop shops serve customers around the clock. The Danube banks, Buda Castle and Andrássy út are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Széchenyi, Gellért and Rudas baths and the ruin bars of District VII draw visitors all year. Public transport is run by BKK, with four metro lines, trams, buses and the HÉV suburban railway; on Friday afternoons and before long weekends the roads out of the city jam up, so leave extra time. In Budapest, BKK passes and tickets can be bought in the BudapestGO app, and parking in the centre is charged by zone, typically on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00.

Excellent service and great food! We visited Tropicarium with our 17month old and this was the natural option to get a lunch. Place is kids friendly with a playground and plenty of space around tables to park stroller. We took a table and was greeted by super nice waitress who spoke English as we don’t speak a word Hungarian (sorry;). Food was great both pasta and pizza. I don’t think it was very spicy, I asked for extra spice oil 👍♥️ We also got tiramisu and coffee and had a great time here. Wish this kind of service was everywhere. ☀️
