Advised a specific price for extra protection insurance then charged over twice the price of car rental. Car cost was €27 per day, then charged €69.09 for the protection. This should not be allowed to happen. These companies seem to do this however they wish. Also happened on another rental at same branch the day before. €93 for car rental 3 days. €188 extra charged for "protection" when advised approx €10 per day. Do not rent cars from this branch. I will never use again.

We had a very disappointing experience with this rental company.BE CAREFULL! THINK TWICE Before renting the car, we clearly informed the employee that we would be traveling to Bratislava, Slovakia, and driving approximately 400–500 km. This information was acknowledged and even recorded in the rental agreement. However, we were never informed that the rental included only 120 km or that additional mileage would result in significant extra charges. Had this been explained, we would have chosen a different rental package. The total price presented to us was €132.50, including full insurance and downtown Budapest return, with a €300 security deposit for potential traffic fines or similar expenses. Despite this, we were later charged approximately €500 in additional fees. Even more concerning, the charge was processed on June 2, although we had returned the car on May 16 and remained in Hungary until May 20. If the charge had been communicated earlier, we could have visited the office and discussed the issue directly with the employee who handled our rental. Mecs and Team were terrific today! We rented a car but turned out to have an extra bag. The team was so nice and found us a spacious car quickly. The gentleman at the check in was incredibly kind as well ( sorry I don’t have his name). Thank you for such a great experience!

Everything was smooth. Clean car, clear instructions and fair rules. Also the service was helpul and agile, not taking more than 10 minutes to pick up and return the car.
