Terrible at customer service… masters when it comes to vulgarity and hostility I had an extremely distressing experience at this SPAR location today. After purchasing items, I realized there might have been a bill mistake on my change and returned politely to ask about it. The cashier began vulgarly mocking and laughing at me with colleagues in Hungarian, knowing I did not speak the language. When I returned a moment later to retrieve my forgotten receipt (because they told me to come back tomorrow morning), the cashier completely lost her temper and literally started screaming aggressively directly in my face. When asked via translation if management was aware of such rude behavior toward customers, she looked me in the eye and proudly said "igen" (yes in Hungarian). Later on, i told her that she’s impolite and bad mannered. That’s when she got back to YELLING in Hungarian again, while another staff member told me to "exit." I have never experienced such hostility, unprovoked anger, and disrespect from retail staff in my life. A routine query was met with total impoliteness, mockery, and clear racism. I will be escalating this incident officially to SPAR corporate management.

Terrible cashier. I suppose it is Nikki (as other ppl are mentioning her name and complaining about her). Well she was lucky I was on a good day cause next time she talks to me in a rude way and throwing my ticket like that, it’s my all food she’ll get back at her face! If you don’t like your job, do something else!

Even 1 star is not worth giving to this shop. I visited Budapest with my family for the first time on vacation. We were really happy with the country and the people, but this store completely ruined our mood. I'm a South Asian , I faced racist comments from the cashier staff on two separate occasions. Even though I didn’t fully understand what they were saying at first, when I started speaking in English, they began saying things to each other and laughing. After noticing the google review, I realized it seemed to be a common thing in this supermarket. I have been a loyal customer of SPAR in many countries, but after this experience, I will never visit SPAR supermarkets again. Please don’t respond with the usual comment that this store is not directly managed by SPAR Hungary. This kind of behavior damages your brand name, so you also have a responsibility to do something about it.

I suffered a horrible racist attack this afternoon at this branch. As I kept shopping around the supermarket I noticed the security guard following me and then positioned himself at the end of the till where I was paying for the goods. As the only black person amongst a group of friends, I was asked to open my bag so he could check the contents. I tried to speak to him to enquire why I was the only person searched and he kept pretending nothing was happening and kept telling me to leave the supermarket. An awful and humiliating experience.

For a non-stop shop it is big and well stocked. A blessing for night travellers. But the cashiers are so tirsd and stressed they can barely tolerate challenges such as foreigners or questions.
