Very bad customer service. I went to SPAR today at around 9:20 PM. I was buying four yoghurts, a bottle of water, and I also handed the cashier a 50 Ft recycling voucher. When I asked her to clarify the price of the yoghurts because there was a promotion displayed (something like “4 for 199 Ft”), she immediately became visibly annoyed and simply replied, “holnap” (“tomorrow”). Since the promotion apparently did not apply, I told her I would not be taking the yoghurts. She gave me an irritated look, said something to her Hungarian colleague, and very unwillingly cancelled the four items from the transaction. After that, I noticed the total was 229 Ft instead of the expected 179 Ft. I politely pointed out the discrepancy, but instead of checking the receipt or explaining it, she pointed at the bottle and implied that the extra 50 Ft was the bottle deposit. I had to remind her that I had already given her a 50 Ft recycling voucher at the beginning of the transaction. She became even more annoyed, opened the cash drawer, took out a 50 Ft coin, and slammed it onto the counter while giving me a disgusted look. Attention, tourists. Tonight, a cashier with long eyelashes and black hair tricked us into cash registering. We bought two bottles of water and coffee, which resulted in about 2000 HUF. She pulled 12,000 HUF from her wallet and issued several coins. She stole 10,000 HUF from us. The situation took place around 11:20 p.m. I do not recommend this store.

If you don't speak their language, you are not welcome. I point to food that I want and tried to communicate how much I need. But in response she pretending not understanding me , I didn't know for buying chicken, I should learn whole new language. To be fair ,I am from midleeast , if you are white, may there will be better treatment, really shameful.

Scandal! Offensive and humiliating treatment of a foreign customer! On July 20th, 2025, around 10:30 AM, I was treated in an absolutely unacceptable way by the woman working at the self-checkout area in this store. What happened was a shameful display of rudeness, aggression, and contempt towards a foreign customer. I made my purchase for an exact amount, had the receipt in hand, and decided not to take one dessert item, which I returned. As I tried to leave the store, I was aggressively stopped by the staff member, who didn't speak a word of English and showed no willingness to understand or help. She immediately started yelling at me in Hungarian, even though I told her I didn’t understand and asked her to speak English. I calmly showed her the receipt and explained I had paid for everything, but that only seemed to make her more hostile. She acted as if I were a criminal, even though I clearly had proof of payment. She kept shouting and pointing at the screen, accusing me of not paying — all of this in front of many people in the store. A good branch for daily shopping. Valid discounts on expiring items. A wide variety of freshly baked goods and cooked meats is also available. Most of the times there are long queues at the tills, a self checkout would help!
