About Széchenyi-hegy, Gyermekvasút

A vasút maga nemében páratlan látványosság, ahol gyermekek irányítják a vonatok közlekedését. A kisvasút vonala Széchenyihegy állomástól Hűvösvölgyig tart.

Budapest District XII is one of Budapest's 23 districts. Life in the capital moves at a big-city pace: businesses often keep longer hours than in smaller towns, many shops, bars and restaurants stay open late, and nonstop shops serve customers around the clock. The Danube banks, Buda Castle and Andrássy út are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Széchenyi, Gellért and Rudas baths and the ruin bars of District VII draw visitors all year. Public transport is run by BKK, with four metro lines, trams, buses and the HÉV suburban railway; on Friday afternoons and before long weekends the roads out of the city jam up, so leave extra time. In Budapest, BKK passes and tickets can be bought in the BudapestGO app, and parking in the centre is charged by zone, typically on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00.

This place is incredibly accessible for families! If you are pushing a baby stroller, it is super easy to get around. There are no annoying stairs to worry about, and they have put great consideration into making it completely hassle-free for parents. Highly recommended! How about Train are high so yo have to lift your baby stroller up

A different and great experience . The kids really take pride in what they do and it is a wonderful step back in time experience. Just take Hungarian forint with you as they don’t accepted card payment on the train … and you will need to buy your ticket and merchandise on the train Please note: asked permission to take and post these photos of the children which they were very happy to do

A serene, if slightly surreal (strong Wes Anderson vibes) trundle through the hills and forest above the city. The young professionals running the place are remarkable - so polite, serious about their responsibilities, and clearly happy to be part of something so unique. You can hop on and off at any station, but bring cash (specifically small bills/notes).

A very special railway, operated by children. Tickets are easy to purchase on spot, you can get one way or return. It has several stops where you can go off sightseeing and even take the chairlift. The station is close to the cog-wheel railway and to bus and tram stations.

This is a must-do when in Budapest. Unfortunately even a lot of locals don’t know about it even though it’s only about 30 minutes from the centre of town. The railway is run by children aged between 10 and 14 years old. The train runs across the tops of the hills providing wonderful views and you can get off at any of the stops to go for a walk in the surrounding nature. One way takes about 45 minutes and it’s worth doing the return trip as you may get a different train on the way back.
