The Aquincum Budapest is one of the larger hotels in Budapest, with a high accommodation capacity. It's located on the Buda side, around 5 km from the city centre. The hotel has a private paid parking area, which is definitely recommended, as street parking in the surrounding area is reserved for residents and parking cameras operate 24/7. The reception is open 24 hours a day, and the staff speak at least two languages. However, the rooms and furniture are clearly in need of renovation and still feel like they belong to the 1990s. The swimming pool area would also benefit from a fresh coat of paint. Unfortunately, I had an issue with the mattress: the springs on one side were worn out, leaving my feet noticeably higher than my head. I had to turn the mattress around to make the bed more comfortable. The biggest positive point is definitely the breakfast. It offers a very wide variety of fresh vegetables, cold cuts, bread, fruit, hot and cold drinks, cheese, yoghurt, cereals and hot savoury dishes. Overall, an average experience. The hotel has good potential and a convenient location, but it really needs some renovation and updating to meet the standards expected from a hotel of thi

I recently arrived at the hotel and am very impressed, despite the rooms being a little dated and the location a bit further out of the centre of town - the facilities were great. Very nice spa and pool area, good food and drinks at the bar at reasonable prices and very friendly staff. Daniel P was an exceptional waiter while me and my friend were staying at the hotel. He was very attentive and engaging and shared lots of tips about what to do and try in Hungary. I couldn’t have asked for better service. Thank you!

This morning, my guest suddenly fell ill. Thanks to the front desk staff, we received excellent care. They called an ambulance for us, making the right decision and ensuring our trip wasn't disrupted. We are extremely grateful. We hope the hotel will commend the staff member who worked between 4 and 6 AM on July 5th, as this staff member had already finished their shift when we left. We are so thankful to them! A truly fantastic hotel with excellent service.
