One of the best places to visit in Budapest Plenty of parking available around the Monument Great view of the city and river Danube from here

The best way to begin discovering Budapest is with a visit to Castle Hill. The neighborhood is rich in all the elements that define this enchanting city: history, architecture, fabulous views, and countless tourists. If you want to enjoy the first three, skip the funicular (which is also excessively expensive at €13 for a ride). Instead, take tram 16, which will take you to the Vienna Gate. Or, if you're a keen walker, take a good half hour and hike up to the gate. Obviously you don't pay any kind of ticket because the door is in full view.

really cool and quiet area definitely worth a walk around if you're already in the area visiting the bastion

Loved this spot as both sides of the top of the gate gives you a contrasting backdrop of either the streetscape or domestic skyline. Almost felt like a hidden gem for a calm relaxing walk from fisherman’s bastion as you walk through the street vernacular and notice residual changes left from history on the elevations of several houses.

Very beautiful gate. You should climb up (there are inconspicuous stairs inside leading to the top) to look around. The surrounding buildings are also impressive.
