Food was really good, drinks were also tasty. It is beautiful inside. Service was quick and kind. However it is a bit expensive but a nice experience when visiting Budapest!🍰🍹

While everyone across blogs and social media speak extensively of the New York Cafe in Budapest, this cafe is one that actually charmed me more. Undoubtedly the former has bedazzling beauty, the latter has preserved an old world charm that is both regal and comforting. Situated in a square quite close to the river, this cafe has so much to offer. Delicious treats and extensive beverage and meal selection with interiors that are stunning. Dating back to 1858, this cafe has captivated all visitors. I particularly loved the outdoor seating which overlooks a square, forcing you to slow down and enjoy your pastry as you watch the world go by. The staff is very pleasant and does not rush you. My sever, Zsolt was particularly a stand out. A native Hungarian, he made polite conversation, with his love for the city and country evident. The cafe has a special treat called the Sisi cake in tribute to Queen Elisabeth who the country adored. It’s both beautiful and delicious. They also offer a trio of mini cakes of Hungarian specialty with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to accompany it. Great way to try the specialty items without over indulging in sweet. Wonderful afternoon at this iconic cafe!

The place looks beautiful and the interior is very stylish and inviting. However, the dessert prices are significantly overpriced for the quality offered. While the cakes are decent, they don’t meet the level of quality one would expect at these prices. Overall, the atmosphere is great, but the value for money could be much better.

Café Gerbeaud has a charming old-style atmosphere with a beautiful and elegant interior. The environment feels classic and cozy, making it a lovely place to relax in the center of Budapest. The breakfast was very good and the desserts were delicious as well. Overall, a very enjoyable café experience and definitely worth a visit.

Café Gerbeaud is a landmark café in the heart of Budapest, closely connected to the city’s imperial past. It is said that Sisi herself visited Gerbeaud, and today you can still try a dessert inspired by her taste — the elegant Sisi cake. The café is best known for its desserts: classic Hungarian cakes, refined pastries and handmade chocolates, all beautifully presented and full of flavor. Coffee and the famous hot chocolate are excellent companions to the sweets. Despite being a very popular spot, the atmosphere remains relaxed and welcoming, with efficient and friendly service. Café Gerbeaud is less about formal dining and more about enjoying a moment of history with great coffee and exceptional desserts. A perfect stop for coffee, cake and a touch of royal Budapest.
