Lovely replica of a 13th century chapel with a beautiful simple interior drawing one closer to the Holy Trinity and the Virgin Mary. A sunlit interior invites reflection.

Chapel of Jak is a hidden gem that beautifully reflects Hungary’s rich history and architectural heritage. Located within the impressive Vajdahunyad Castle complex, it stands out with its intricate Romanesque design and peaceful atmosphere. Despite being smaller than other landmarks in Budapest, the chapel carries a strong sense of charm and authenticity. The detailed stonework and quiet surroundings make it feel almost timeless, as if you’ve stepped back into another era. It’s a perfect place for a short pause while exploring the park, offering a moment of calm away from the busier parts of the city. A truly special corner of Budapest that combines history, beauty, and serenity in a very elegant way.

Small Chapel build in the 1896 for the 1000th anniversary of Hungary it's a scaled down replica of the 13th century Church in the town of Jak.The exterior it's beautiful with lots of arches and sculptures of Saints and apostles.Inside interior it's toned down but it has beautiful stained glass windows. We didn't see the court yard because it was under reconstruction but I've seen pictures and it's stunning.

The Chapel of Ják is a beautiful hidden gem inside the Vajdahunyad Castle complex in City Park. It’s a replica of the original Romanesque church in Ják, and the detailed stone carvings around the entrance are absolutely stunning. The architecture feels authentic and peaceful, with intricate columns and medieval-style decorations that transport you back in time. It’s a quiet spot compared to other parts of the park, making it perfect for taking photos or simply appreciating the craftsmanship. If you’re exploring Vajdahunyad Castle, don’t miss this small but impressive chapel — it adds even more charm and history to the whole experience.

Lovely little chapel. Small souvenir shop located inside where you can buy rosaries etc. Bring some cash so you can light a candle.

A place to come to seek shelter and respite from the outside world, whether that be the chaos and troubles outside, or the hot sun or rain outside. Free entry, with mass a on the 23rd of every month at 12pm.

The Chapel of Ják in Budapest is a highly accurate architectural replica of the 13th-century Abbey Church of Ják in western Hungary, located in the City Park, directly in front of Vajdahunyad Castle. Free entry.

Gorgeous architecture, you can't stop taking pictures of this one There was a small entry fee, not much going on inside, very small and austere, but for 200ft it was fine otherwise people would stomp inside at times given the tourist flow The chapel is a reproduction of a bigger church and just like the Vajdahunyad next to it was meant to be temporary for the millennium exhibition. I'm glad they decided to keep it and make the whole area into a thing, it's one of the most pleasant in the whole capital
