Absolutely brilliant meal from start to finish. We started with the fresh bread, Spanish olive oil dip, then had oysters with onion and lemon which were fresh, salty and really well balanced. The roasted cauliflower amuse bouch was surprisingly good, but the standouts were definitely the snails and the steak tartare. The snails came swimming in loads of rich garlic butter with bread to mop it all up, and I’d happily order them again. The steak tartare was unreal. You could tell it was made from a really good cut of beef, mixed with chives, garlic, gherkin, red onion, Tabasco and a rich dressing. I had it with the salt and pepper fries, which were honestly some of the best fries I’ve had. Crispy, fluffy and a massive portion. The red wine paired perfectly with everything too. The service was probably the best part of the whole evening. Every member of staff was friendly, attentive and genuinely seemed to care without being over the top. For a Michelin Guide restaurant, I thought the prices were actually very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with both indoor and outdoor seating, a lovely atmosphere and live music that made the

We had no idea this was a Four Seasons property as we entered from the side street. Had we approached from the front we would have known. When asked if we’d like some water, had they asked still or sparkling we’d have known it was bottled, with a hefty price. We were served the water in small glasses, without ice. We like ice. The bottle was then taken away. Now we’ve bought water had the bottle remained on the table we would have finished it. It was 40 degrees outside! I’m to understand that the 15% service with 27% VAT which was on our bill, is for alcohol drinks, but we didn’t have any alcoholic drinks. However we thoroughly enjoyed our Niçoise Salads, even if there was only 1 Quail’s egg. My most expensive salad ever, at £12500 HUF/£31 (each). But it was very good, if not a tad too salty with the amount of olives and capers. The complimentary cold broccoli soup in a glass was delightful.

Review: KOLLÁZS Brasserie & Bar I needed a few days before writing this review. Usually, I like to balance the good with the things that could be improved. Every restaurant has something to work on. Every experience has a flaw somewhere. For the first time in a long while, I’m struggling to find one. KOLLÁZS, located inside the magnificent Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest, delivers the kind of experience that reminds you why great restaurants exist in the first place. The room breathes quality. The service is exceptional without ever becoming stiff or pretentious. It’s elegant, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Fine dining without the attitude. We started with the escargot. Beautifully cooked, packed with flavor, and exactly the sort of dish that makes you wonder why you don’t order snails more often. Then came the main event: a Tomahawk steak for two. And what a steak. Perfectly cooked to temperature, deeply flavorful, and served with side dishes that actually deserved to be on the plate. The pepper sauce was balanced and elegant rather than overwhelming. The fries were excellent. The mushrooms were full of flavor and complemented the beef perfectly. Then

We enjoyed breakfast daily and dinner on our last night. Breakfast was delicious and the buffet well stocked and great variety including very good salmon and pastries. However, dinner was a total surprise and incredible. Love the environment of the restaurant but the menu really delivers. Shrimp app, French onion soup and hot fries so good. We also ordered from their other restaurant, MUZSA. The yellow fin tuna was spectacular, the spicy cauliflower bites delicious and Asian salad with chicken delectable. So full but we had to try the traditional chocolate cake recipe which was over the top with their house made chocolate gelato. Overall, one of our fav restaurants in Budapest and a must go to for dinner.

Dining at KOLLÁZS Brasserie & Bar was an outstanding experience and truly one of the culinary highlights of Budapest. The atmosphere is elegant, sophisticated, and beautifully designed, creating the perfect balance between luxury and comfort. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance feels refined and welcoming. The highlight for me was definitely the food. The Hungarian goulash was spectacular rich, flavorful, and full of authentic local character. It had the perfect depth of flavor and felt like a true taste of Hungary. I also tried the beef bourguignon, and it was absolutely exceptional. The beef was incredibly tender, slow cooked to perfection, and paired with a delicious sauce that elevated the entire dish. The service was attentive and professional, making the experience even more enjoyable from start to finish. Overall, a fantastic dining destination in Budapest elegant atmosphere, outstanding cuisine, and unforgettable flavors.
