They don't update their website or the opening hours on Google. We went all the way up there only to find it is closed 'due to bad weather conditions'. We had clear blue skies and a slight breeze today...

I totally recommend to do this when you are coming to Budapest . Especially when everything is bloomed during spring summer and autumn.

Super nice staff, super nice area and great cheap experience. My boyfriend’s ADULT TICKET COST 3500 HUF, while my university STUDENT TICKET was 2000 HUF. Mind you these are tickets to go up and down! You don’t have to go down right away, you can go at any time.

The ride was fun, quiet, and relaxing. Dont know why people are complaining about safety, it was our 1st time on a chair lift, and not one second did we feel unsafe. At the hill, you have a restaurant and some stands from which you can purchase food, liquids, snacks, etc. There are parks and hiking trails at the top and even sightseeing spots (Elisabet Tower). At the end and beginning of the lift, it takes photos of you. We bouth the picture with frame, it was around 6€, good memory. We recommend!

So if you're expecting mountains and beautiful vistas, this probably won't be your bag. It's not 'unattractive', just more of a large hill with a view of other hills/towns/Budapest. But if you're all cultured out by the main attractions of Budapest, then this is a welcome little half day trip with an 'out-in-the-countryside' feel to it. So use BudapestGo or Google to work out what buses you'll need to get there. For us it was just 2 (with a 30 sec walk between bus stops in the middle of the journey) and it was easy to work out. On the day we went (26 Jan 2023) you had to buy chair lift tickets from an automated machine inside the chair lift building. But it was straightforward. Incidentally there are free toilets in the lower station, but little else iro amenities. The chair lift trip takes around 10-15 mins each way. It seems well maintained, but it's not a super modern version. Nonetheless the seats were comfy enough and nothing looked like it would fall off anytime soon. After arriving at the top station/cafe, you can walk further up the hill and visit the tower. It's completely free to enter and climb the stairs to the top. The view is probably the best one you'll get since
