I visited the Magyar Nemzeti Bank during my recent trip to Budapest to exchange some old, expired banknotes, and the entire process was smooth and straightforward. The staff member was friendly and efficient, providing a short form to complete and quickly processing the exchange. The environment felt professional and welcoming. While I likely won’t need to return, I was pleased with the overall experience, the service, and the speed of the process. Definitely a hassle-free experience if you need similar services.

Exchanged some withdrawn currency here. Simple and quick - I was in and out in a few minutes, just a short form to fill in with basic contact information and they swap the notes. There’s a small office entrance on the right hand end of the building as you look at it from the main road / tram tracks in front.

Came to exchange Hungarian banknotes for new ones, since my ATM was not taking them. A cashier informed me that since there was no oil, she will not exchange it. ☺️ Best customer service ever!

Coming there by purpose of exchanging old invalid banknotes and despite google says it’s open, the bank is closed these days. Within digital era I would recommned to use your web page or other social media to announce such differences priperly and in advance, no just putting the piece of paper at the front door.

Another bit of impressive architecture. Totally worth the walk as the streets running vertical to it (Hercigprimas, Sas, and Oktobre 6e) are full of tranquil and cheap cafe's and restaurants. The park adjacent to it also has a nice water fountain for kids to splash around in. This is probably the nicest area in all of Budapest regarding the abundance of amazing architecture. It just has that wow factor.
