About Malatinszky Borszaküzlet Budapest

Hungary's first wine boutique, established in 1992 in the heart of Budapest, just a few steps from St. Stephen's Basilica and the Chain Bridge.

Founded by Csaba Malatinszky, renowned oenologist and Hungary's first sommelier, Malatinszky Wine Boutique is his own Budapest wine shop, showcasing the estate's organic wines from Villány, complemented by carefully selected top-quality wines from Tokaj and fine Champagnes.

"The true measure of a wine is its ability to age." The boutique offers a unique collection of age-worthy wines, including bottles from 1997 and an exceptional vertical collection of Malatinszky Cabernet Franc from 2002 onwards

Very near to kempinski hotel where we are staying. Very friendly and helpful staff. Packaging of the bottle holder is elegant and sophisticated. Excellent for gifts and souvenirs.

Csaba Malatinszky is one of the pioneers of the modem Hungarian wine industry. This shop was literally the first place I visited when I arrived in Budapest in 1995! I wanted to learn about Hungarian wines, and Csaba set me up with private tastings with several winemakers in the southern town of Villány, the Napa Valley of Hungary, including Attila Gere and József Bock. I will be forever grateful to Csaba for his kindness and help in introducing me to the great wines of Hungary.

We came here to buy local wine. Very knowledgeable staff. The wine selection is not huge but everything you can wish for to discover Hungarian wine.

Excellent Hungarian wine. Sophisticated, layered, elegant, complex. Try Malatinsky wines to have a good impression about wine making in Hungary

Tasty Cab Francs from a knowledgeable and very nice store manager. They're vertically integrated, so other wine shops don't carry Malatinszky.
