‼️I’m sorry, but I can’t let this issue go without writing a negative review anymore. Whenever I come to Budapest, I usually choose Maverick because this is the hostel I like the most, BUT... Every Maverick hostel has a major scent issue. Usually, they use a crazy amount of detergent; here, that’s finally not the case, but instead, the whole building is filled with a vanilla scent from those sticks. It’s so strong it’s hard to breathe, and those sticks are normally used in toilets abroad. This is not just a matter of personal preference; the concentration of these chemicals is harmful to health and should be reported to the Consumer Protection and the National Public Health Center (ÁNTSZ). Now all my clothes and belongings smell like it, and I can still smell it on me all day even out on the street. I literally smell like a toilet. I don’t understand how anyone can tolerate this, especially the staff who work here all day. Update / Answer to management: The receptionist initially offered a refund and said they would call to arrange it. By the time I finished packing, this was changed to offering another room instead. I just came without having a reservation and they accept me right away which was amazing. Otherwise the plan it was to stay in another place kind of far from the city centre so I’m very grateful for their help. Dudo was very helpful and kind, she answer all of my questions. The room was clean and cozy so I really enjoyed my sleep there. They even had a wine tasting and I tried local types of wine with my friend. Thanks a lot for everything guys!! For sure I will be back! ^.^ <3

Overall, our experience was pleasant. On our first day, before check-in, the staff allowed us to store our luggage in a storage room, which was very convenient. Although the staff were not particularly welcoming or polite, everything went smoothly. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Our main concern was hygiene, as many of the towels had stains and holes, the bed sheets were somewhat dirty, and the daily cleaning felt rather sloppy. The location, however, is absolutely perfect, with both a metro station and a bus stop right next to the apartment. Fashion Street is also nearby, along with many restaurants. That said, the room was not very quiet. We were woken up on three different nights by noise from the street and neighboring apartments. Additionally, the elevator was occasionally out of order. Overall, we had a great time and found the apartments very convenient.
