Great experience for both us adults and the kids. Great fun taking the obligatory holding the moon shots 😁 great food places around too. A lovely walk along the river to get to it and some beautiful photographic opportunities on the way too. Recommended if you can. 10-15mins experience

The huge Moon installation hanging in the middle of the alley is awesome and well worth a visit. It was pretty crowded when I went, but the vibe is great and there are a few nice spots nearby to grab a coffee or brunch. Perfect for pictures!

Clever and unusual sight in Budapest. At first glance the moon appears to be floating, but after looking closely you can see the suspension wires. Nevertheless it draws you near and you will snap a few photos, we did the same and continued our walk along the riverside. Unfortunately we were not back in the area to see the moon illuminated!

As an analytical traveler and culinary enthusiast who frequently visits from Germany, I approach urban attractions with a highly critical eye. The Moon Budapest installation, located in Piarista köz between Váci Street and Március 15 Square, is an exceptional use of public space. It is essentially a seven-meter suspended sphere featuring incredibly detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. If you are planning a visit, my top recommendation is to wait until after dark. While it is an interesting sight during the day, the true magic happens when the sphere is illuminated against the night sky. Because this has become a major photo destination, expect a bottleneck in the walkway and bring some patience. For the best possible photograph, avoid the common trap of standing directly beneath the moon. This angle makes it look small and distant. Instead, stand a few meters in front of the sphere, and have your photographer step back and shoot from a lower angle. This creates the famous illusion that you are holding the moon in the palm of your hand. My primary warning concerns the surrounding area. Sitting right off Váci Street means you are in peak tourist territory. Keep a close watch

A great place to take a picture while visiting the city. I recommend going at dusk so you can still see the moon clearly... if you go a little later, it doesn't stand out much as you might notice. It should be noted that there are usually quite a few people taking pictures, so if you want the perfect photo, it will cost you time and patience.
