5/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re looking for authentic Hungarian food, this place is absolutely worth the trip. A local friend of ours, who’s lived in Budapest for over 30 years, brought us here and said this was one of the best traditional restaurants in the city. He was right. The fish soup was unforgettable. It arrived in a large kettle over a small flame, so it stayed piping hot the entire meal. Hands down the best fish soup I’ve ever had. Another surprise was the traditional Hungarian dumplings with crispy pork cracklings and sour cream. Simple, comforting, and incredibly delicious. Every dessert we tried was excellent too. To top it all off, I finally got to try Unicum and a local Hungarian dry red wine. The wine was outstanding and paired perfectly with the meal. If you’re visiting Budapest, don’t just eat in the tourist areas. Grab an Uber or a taxi and make the trip here. This is the kind of place locals recommend, and it serves real Hungarian food the way it’s meant to be. Highly recommended!

Great restaurant outside of the main tourist area. We had the Halaszle. It was really flavourful and very cool that it comes in its own boiling cauldron. A fantastic little restaurant which specializes in seafood but has traditional options also. The food and service is great, portions are big and filling. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant.
