The museum is artistically impressive, and the staff were very kind. However, I didn’t find it very accessible in terms of language. The video sections had English subtitles, but most of the other exhibits didn’t, so we had difficulty understanding them. We ended up relying on the written handouts and online resources to better understand the displays.

A very striking and extremely well-designed museum that intensely portrays the periods of the Nazi and Communist regimes in Hungary. I was unaware of this darker side of the country's history, and the visit was a very enriching and moving experience. The exhibits are impactful, the presentation is engaging, and it makes you reflect on an important chapter of history. A must-see for anyone visiting Budapest.

Went to see the museum. It’s interesting and worth the visit. It tells the story of Nazi and Soviet occupation and oppression. The basement floor with recreation of prison is very interesting and appalling. The price of adult ticket was 4000 ft. Would recommend to get audio guide as most of the namings and descriptions are in Hungarian. If you have a spare time definitely worth a visit.

This is a great museum to visit if you want to learn about Hungarian History from the 20th Century and it shows a look at Hungary's dark history from WW2 to the end of Communist Rule in the early 1990s. There is some hard hitting areas of the museum which might not be suitable to families with young children and the museum does not allow photos or filming inside the museum, except for the lobby and around the Tank. You can book in advance or on the day. You can take an audio guide around, but they have cards describing various exhibit areas in Hungarian, German and English.

For my wife and me, this was like a journey into the heart of Budapest's history. It brings details to life that we didn't know much about. The museum is designed in a way that you don't feel tired at all; it’s like a story narrated through pictures, photos, and videos. What really stayed in my mind, though, were the narrow solitary prison cells at the end of the exhibition. I highly recommend seeing them.
